SOLVED

Hi, first I would thank you for useful software.
But I tried to use it on WM 6.5 and I can not register the program.
As I checked - program does not understand Device ID in WM6.5 and even if enter correct number(generated on website) the program doesn't pick it up.
Please advice how to correct it.
Thank you.

What I discovered:

Right from the old 2003 version of Windows Mobile OS, we were able to set our Owner Information such as Name, Contact number, email address and so on but the newer Windows Mobile 6.5 is missing such important setting. Here’s how you can enable it.

It was initially introduced to display the information on lock and today screens with the idea that if you lose your Pocket PC, the finder will be provided with the vital information right after turning on the PocketPc, so he could return it back to you if he wishes. But no one has ever used this feature and Today screens are almost entirely replaced with Mobile shell or custom plug-ins like HTC Touch FLO.

But Microsoft has forgotten the other most importantly function of this Owner information. Many of the commercial softwares available in the market are activated based on the owner name you setup and so in the newer Windows Mobile 6.5, those softwares could not be activated without this information.

Fortunately Microsoft didn’t actually remove the Owner information entirely but have just hidden it. You can enable it by a simple registry change. Under HKLM/ControlPanel/Owner, change the decimal value of Hide from 0 to 1. so it will appear on Today.

So finally I manual in registry changed Key "Owner/Name"
And generate proper key on website.
- bingo - working.

Thanks,

Eugene
